Food Matters Live is the UK's fastest growing cross-sector event showcasing innovation in the food and drink industry and it returns to London's ExCeL from 21 - 23 November 2017. Food Matters Live is free to attend and registration is now open.

Food Matters Live is delighted to announce these new Awards designed to celebrate inspiring innovation and creativity from across the food and drink industry.

Open to exhibitors and registered visitors, the Awards reflect the themes at the heart of Food Matters Live. They make the important connections across all elements of the food and drink supply chain – from innovative product development, ground-breaking science and technology through to packaging design and consumer marketing strategies.

Whatever it is that is making your innovative food product, ingredient or initiative a commercial success, this is an opportunity to gain recognition for your brand and your business.

Match – new, curated matchmaking service

Food Matters Live is pleased to announce Match - a new matchmaking service offering exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to pre-arrange meetings at Food Matters Live.

Match provides an opportunity for food and drink manufacturers, ingredients suppliers, retailers, research centres, universities, distributors, importers, exporters, business services, packaging suppliers, branding agencies and health professionals to identify potential partnerships across the food and drink supply chain in the UK and internationally.

It also includes a dedicated Meet the Buyer programme where buyers from the retail and foodservice sectors will be looking for innovative companies who meet their business needs in the UK and internationally.

New seminar programmes

At the heart of Food Matters Live is the unrivalled education programme featuring 400 expert speakers across 100 free-to-attend conference and seminar sessions. New seminars for 2017 include Food futures - which will focus on the innovative products, processes and new technologies shaping the future of food and drink production and business. Speakers include food innovators, trend forecasters, business advisors and investors together with nutrition and industry experts.

Speakers will be addressing a rich and varied set of themes including: forecasting the future for sustainable proteins; emerging ingredients and the impact on product innovation; breakthrough technologies disrupting the food and drink industry and the role of food tech innovation shaping the food and drink industry and supporting consumer trends.

Also new is the Future of food retail seminar programme. These seminars will bring experts from multiple retailers, independent retailers through to farm shops and foodservice providers together to explore drivers for growth, new product trends and insight into the modern shopper.

Expert speakers will address themes such as envisaging the retailer of the future: keeping up with trends and technology; keeping pace with modern shoppers' approach to food, drink and nutrition; where food retail meets foodservice and case studies of best selling products and retail solutions in food-to-go and other growth categories.

These seminars sit alongside the popular programmes sharing expert insight around: tackling obesity; free-from; nutrition for health and wellbeing; packaging: innovating through design and marketing matters.

Meet the food and drink innovators

The exhibition will once again showcase a host of cutting-edge innovative ingredients and food and drink featuring 800 organisations, ranging from global multinational companies to young and emerging enterprises from the UK and internationally.

New additions to the exhibition floor include the Healthy Snacking zone which puts the spotlight on the trends driving growth in this category – from the health agenda, 'on the go' life styles to rapidly increasing demand for healthier and functional snacks.

Other themed areas include the Free-from zone where visitos can find the latest innovations in this dynamic category and the Enterprise Zone - the hub for young and enterprising businesses less than two years old.

A host of international ingredient companies from around the world will be on hand to discuss their latest solutions including GNT, Naturex, Beneo, Cosucra, Kerry Ingredients, Synergy Flavours as well as leading distributors such as Azelis, Cornelius, Brenntag, Kreglinger and Protec Nutra.

Live attractions, demonstrations and tastings give visitors a chance to investigate what is shaping the future of food – from understanding what influences consumer food choices at the Experimental Café to a new demonstration theatre featuring evidence-based insight, cooking demonstrations and tastings from an all-star international line-up of industry players, chefs and nutritionists showcasing new approaches to catering for health and wellbeing.
